The development of diorama media to improve the cognitive learning outcomes in elementary school students

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of solar diorama media to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of elementary school students. This type of research is a development research using 4-D development model by Thiagarajan et al. The design of this study applies One Group Pretest-Posttest. Data analysis techniques use validation sheets, implementation sheets and obstacles, test results, and student responses. The results show that diorama media is feasible to be applied based on three eligibility criteria. First, valid based on expert judgment of most aspects of material and media aspects with score of 3 on a scale of 4. Second, practical with the implementation of categorized learning is very valid. Third, effective in learning in terms of mastery increased from an average of 57.05 to 78.31 with the category of N-gain is. Positive response given by students about diorama media shows diorama media is helpful for students in understanding the material of the solar system.
