Developing Worksheets to Civilize Scientific Literacy for Students of Physics Teacher Candidates
Physics learning should civilize the student Physics teacher candidates to have the scientific literacy. In fact, that culture is still a dream. This study described the validity and the effectiveness of worksheets as a guide for Physics teacher candidates to civilize scientific literacy. Development design included preliminary research, prototype phase, and assessment phase. The trial test used one group pretest-posttest design toward 37 students of Physics Education, Universitas Negeri Surabaya-Indonesia. Data were collected from the expert validation, trial, and observations. Analysis data used descriptive qualitative, n-gain, and wilcoxon signed test. The worksheet components included design, format, content, language, communicate, support innovation and learning quality with valid and reliable criteria. The competency of scientific literacy before and after learning process in medium criteria was significantly increased. It was concluded that the developed worksheet was valid and effective as guide for Physics teacher candidates to cultivate scientific literacy.
