Media Development of Dance Video to Stimulate Art and Motor Skills for Kindergarten Students

Abstract

Learning process for early age must focus on the process instead of its result. Therefore, real experience and learning facility must be designed to be as attractive as it could and easy to comprehend by the children in order to achieve best result. The ability to perform dance movement is important for children because it helps them to express themselves in different meaningful dance movement which also help the art and motor skill development in children.  This study aims at finding out the effectiveness and appropriateness of dance video as media to stimulate the art and motor skill development of kindergarten students. This study is a development study. The instrument of the study were observation, questionnaire and interview guide. Data analysis technique was conducted by t-test paired while data processing was by Spss 20. The result of the study shows that: (1) Dance video as learning media is fit to stimulate art and motor skill development for kindergarten students ; (2) Dance video as learning media is effective in stimulating the art and motor skill development of kindergarten students.
