The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of soft skills competencies based on the Indonesian Higher Education policies. Lack of soft skills competencies will affect the quality of graduates entering the workplace. As a result, graduates have difficulties to find jobs in the industries. In 2012, Indonesian Higher Education released the Indonesian Qualifications Framework (IQF) for higher education institutions in Indonesia, The IQF has already stated addressed soft skills competencies of graduates. However, the program is on progress to implement the program in higher education institutions. Thus, many institutions still begin to utilize this program. The implementation of IQF may be conducted one or two years after, while our neighboring countries provided their national standard five years ago. As a recommendation, institutions should implement soft skills integrated in curriculum and match to industries to provide current soft skills competencies that are needed in the future workplace.
